Condolence book for the passing of DeLorean Motor Company 'DMC'

The logo looks dated now, but was great for its time. Its simple, balanced, and distinctive. I like it.

DeLorean is alive and well. The rights to the brand have been bought by a small motorcyclr manufacturer in St Catharines, Ontario.

So much to say about deloreans, so little time. They seem to look better and better as time goes on.

Ah the DMC logo reminds me of Back To The Future all three great films. The car was awsome. Nothing but good memories whenever I see this logo. Shame the car company didn't last that long. and Rap stop posting the same thing over and over again please you don't give a **** about history anyway.

I'm surprised at all the negative comments towards the logo--it has got more meaning behind it than most wordmarks--it's the front end of a car, with two wheels at the side, based on original sketchese of the Delorean when it was meant to look more like a race car with a thin front end and large side wheels.

It has that whole futuristic space ship thing going on. I remember drawing the logo on my schoolwork in HS and everybody saying CMC? What's that? (The D looks like a backward C)

You know it's cool when someone steals the badge off your car. Good job I did not catch the little ****.

DeLorean's legacy as one of General Motors Corp.'s most respected automotive engineers was overshadowed by the U.S. government's charges that DeLorean had trafficked cocaine as a means to finance his fledgling company. Even though he was exonerated from all federal drug charges brought against him, his reputation and credibility were devastated, several of his colleagues abandoned him, and his new company was destroyed. Yet from the tangle a nearly perfect driving machine (and logotype) emerged.

It's very -70ish, but it's still a clean design. I like it. Some guy has designed a Delorean font available for free at www.larabiefonts.com ... it's called "Rustproof Body" and is very true to the original font used for the logo and for the "Delorean" insignia on the rear bumper of the DMC-12 car.

...Having said that, the all aluminium construction of the logo is what makes time travel possible....

Reminds me of the old 80's NASA logo. The bastards at NASA's hired publicity company decided to shelve a very beautiful and progessive piece of design and return to th army mission patch style of the 50's for "nostalgia" points. Nostalgia.. at NASA? Foolish humans. The delorean logo, like the car (mass produced exclusivity - only a cokehead could come up with that) has taken on iconic staus because of 2 things, a movie which was much cooler tyhan the car, than man or the logotype and the fact that it failed, ironically making the Delorean more exclusive than most cars 10 times the price. Have a look at the film "The wedding singer" and see just how "cool" the Delorean would have been if just any asshole could drive it. The same would have happened to the logo. Ok so it probably looks good on a T-shirt today, but if i'm going 80's retro, give the Atari logo anytime.

This logotype was a perfect symbol for a truly pioneering company. Just like the car that it labelled it will never rust,... timeless elegance!

As classic and simple in design as the product itself. Looks even better in stainless steel.

It may look sort of cool nowadays, but i think it couldn't/shouldn't have survived the 70s...

It's kind of like the first logo a teenager would do! But I like it! (Maggie Thatcher hated it of course) Is it true that John DeLorean himself made it? DMC RIP

The mark screams futurama, and has a personality all its own. DeLorean has been plotting a comeback for sometime. If true, will this monolithic logo be reborn?
