Condolence book for the passing of USSR 'Hammer and Sickle'

I have lived half of my live in USSR and the other half in a capitalist country. The reality is - you have to work hard in both systems. The difference is you could actually achive something and see immediate results in a modern capitalist country. As to the USSR - there was good educational and reasonable health system, people were good, conscientious and helpful. As to who lived there well - obviously only the political governers who ruled the country, their accomplices and descendants. Let's leave the hammer & sickle logo for those who still want to use it.

As long as we live in a system where a small minority live the "American Dream" off of the labor and exploitation of the mass of the population, there can be no justice. Capitalism cannot be made more humane because it is an inhumane system to begin with. The problem though is that the working class of America is too complacent. As long as we have our beer and internet porno, we're happy getting sodomized viciously by Uncle Sam every chance he gets. Workers, comrades, fellow human beings, can't you see what's in front of your face? We need to seize control of the means of production, only then will the finer things in life be available to those who truly deserve it. Once capitalism falls in the United States, it will be the beginning of world revolution and a brighter epoch for working men and women. Remember that our mammoth economy was built on the backs of the unrewarded, ponder this and ask yourself if capitalism is the great bastion of freedom and liberty that our country makes it out to be.

Before someone writes anything about good Trocki and bad Stalin, he/she should read a little about Trocki's ideas and his past. It was not Stalin who destroyed the true communism, he is the one who (anyhow it may sound) prevented it from becoming even worse and more evil. * * * Nonetheless - if someone writes about hammer & sickle being a good symbol, he/she should keep in mind that for millions of people it is a symbol of mass repressions, murders and suffering, comparable only with those related with swastika sign. Not the best symbol to use in commerce, hm?

The USSR was the greatest power in the worl untill Stalin ruined it all by turning it into a giant "slaughterhouse" that claimed the lives of millions of innocent soviets. After Lenin was killed Trockij should have taken his place but he was sent into exile into Mexico where he was later killed. Stalin should have been killed before he had the chance to rise to power. This didn t happen an thus this madman claimed the lives of millions of people around the USSR and Europe.

i hate what stalin did with 'communism'. what he did was not communism, had nothing to do with marx! the real and pure form of communism is perfect and should be found everywhere in the world, but the capitalists are too powerfull and stupid, they just want money and they want it quick even if other persons have to work to the bones just to feel a bit alive! the hammer and the sickle has nothing to do with the ussr, the ussr was a failure who abused the word and the symbols of communism!

I am from South Africa and have been part of a revolution since I was born. The hammer and sickle was a great symbol to me when I was growing up. I am now 30 years old and I think evenb though iot is gone more than any other symbol it inspired me to fight on even in the face of defeat. I am today strong believer in the ideals and principles of socialism and being socially aware. I am not Russion but I loved the symbol because to me it represented the revolutionary and fighting spirit of people all over the world who wanted change. It si sad that it did not turn out that way because outside and sometimes inside influences. The symbol is gone but as Russions you shouold fight to keep the spirit alive in your children and their descendants. They must never forget.

The memories... I was born there, was proud of the USSR. Even with many wrong things at least our heads were high. Now, I have to leave the country to work at cleaning streets in the west with a university diploma. Helthcare is gone, education is gone, culture is gone, pride is gone. I was a big critic of the USSR, and with reason, but there is nothing like being reduced to servitude to begin to look at the hammer and sickle with big nostalgia. Sooner or latter...

This is a masterexample of the early 20th century culture and art. Upcoming graphics made their way, followed by well known signs with impact. And remember: this is the work of farmers and steam engine(ers).

As a logo i think it's nice. Easy to recognise, can be used in many ways etc. The USSR flag is in my opinion a great example of minimalistic and stylish design. Wish all flags were that well-designed. As for the Areoflot logo, i believe the company should benefit by dropping the logo. At least here in Sweden, Areoflot still has a little negative Soviet touch - old planes held together with duct tape and pilots with vodka-breaths working 20-hour shifts... now this is all predjudices of course, but since it's an airline company i think it would be best to scrap it. I love the logo, though...

Communism will never die since there are still people out there who hate capitalism and have no patience over socialism....

The Hammer and Sickle logo may be dead, but it's the hip thing to put on shirts and coffee mugs. Here's my site devoted to just that: http://www.hammersicklestuff.com/

I really like the USSR,they were cool before, but after the communist party collapsed, they all lost their touch,I mean, everyybody was scared of them before. But still, like the others said, the spectre of communism is still walking.

Remember that the "hammer and the sickle" existed long before the USSR. Since the 19th century it meant a lot to all the workers and th exploited in the world. I don't know if it still does. But they're still there

Yes - it’s not dead! We had thought about dropping the Hammer and Sickle but decided to keep it, we couldn't come up with a better logo.

Recently, Aeroflot had contemplated removing the Hammer and Sickle motif from its logo. However, after 2 expensive years of reviews with its image consultant Identica... they decided, well actually, it's not a bad symbol after all!
