Condolence book for the passing of Pan Am 'Blue Globe'

I came to the U.S. on a PanAm 747, and the blue globle means everything to me. Alas, the logo is being used by a railway company (Pan Am Railways) in New England. At least it's still moving.

I was a flight attendant with Pan Am in the late 60's and I miss the whole experience very much. I don't understand why someone hasn't made more use of the logo. I would like to see it stay alive.

Gone but not fogotten !!! I spent the most wonderful 18 years of my life while working for PanAm. It was the best civil aviation school that I have ever attended. It was an honor to work for PanAm. ''You can't Beat The Experience'' slogan of PanAm proved it ! ''The Blue Globe will always remain in my heart and soul.

When i was a child, the first plane i got was a little 747 with PAN AM stickers and i never forget, how difficult it was to place the stickers on the plane. But since that time, PAN AM was the only Airline i remember and when i see that logo now, it makes me cry, so much emotions from (big times in the 60´s) and also the hard times later coming to my mind. But that Logo makes me feel sad and proud and started my love for airtraffic and planes. PAN AM - lives on in our hearts!!

I pass the old Pan Am often, usually approaching from the southern face, towering over Grand Central. Not a single time do I look up at that brutally unimaginative MetLife logo & not miss the power & elegance of the Pan Am logo. I miss the airline as well (not counting it's struggling last years).

I have spent fabulous 18 years working for PanAm. It was the best aviation school in the airline industry. I miss PanAm very much and I pray that one day a miracle will happen and there will be PanAm again. We the PanAm people used to say the color of the blood in our vains was blue! PanAm is a Legend.

I grew up with Pan Am. I remember having their light blue tote bags with the beautiful white logos. I am desperately looking for on now. They are so hard to find! Pan Am R.I.P You are missed!

It's hard to believe that this pioneering logo is no longer here. It's simplicity made it so easy to remember and allowed it to be adapted to so many uses, both practical and decorative. I will never forget its big blue heart and beautiful, smiling curves. I will keep every memory close. I love you PanAm. R.I.P.

The Pan Am Blue Globe is not gone or dead. Guilford Transportation Industries bought what was left of Pan Am in the 1990s and operates New England to Florida routes and charters. GTI also owns Guilford Rail System and slaps the Blue Globe on their boxcars as they see fit.

I still love this logo every time I see it in giant neon on a building in Blade Runner. Many of the companies in that film have ceased existing or have undergone many changes. Except for Coca-Cola of course.

I grew up in Miami, FL where PanAm had their beautiful amphibias port and repair facility, My neighbor told srories of wearing roller skates while chaseing parts in the huge warehouses in Coconut Grove. PanAm gave sleepy Miami it's first taste of cosmopolitan glamour and site of the "blue globe" will always serve up a special warm-and-fuzzy felling to this Miami native.

PanAm was great not because of the Logo but because of the great people that worked for the company. I have fond memories of numerous trips and many friends. Rhodes, Rio, etc. 201-601-4947

I worked for Pan Am in New Jersey from 1982 to 1984. Fabulous time in my life, the flying benefits were magnificent (maybe that contributed to the demise bigtime, Lockerbie finished them off). The favourite item I still have with the wonderful logo is a First Class wine glass from a flight from New York to Rio for a stag weekend!

- isn't it funny that this wonderful piece has gone as an result of globalisation? When the world was a place to be explored, the symbol of an airline was standing for progress - nowadays we have cheap products and services...from China and Ireland... -> culture seems developing (what direction?)

At one time, the PanAm 'Blue Globe' was as ubiquitous as Coca-Cola - it was the first truly global airline. The present reincarnation is not! PanAm (as we knew it) RIP

One of my all-time favourites. Isn't this by Paul Rand? My first international flight was with PanAm and I've always been a big fan of that bright blue color. So much so that I still have my blue PanAm bag (the ones they used to give out) with me.

I've always loved this logo - I'm glad I managed to collect so many spoons, glasses and carry-on bags with the logo on it, but the rumours that theft of pan-am things eventually bankrupted pan-am are unfounded. Honest.
