Condolence book for the passing of P & G 'Moon and Stars

Why the hell would P&G bother defending their logo as being emblematic of Satan when anyone with a room-temperture IQ or better knows there is no such thing?

Satanic or not satanic, they need to bring this beast back.

A few things; one, the logo shown here is an earlier version. P&G simplified the logo in the 1980s, reducing the number of stars and the lines in the man in the moon. Two, the simplified version continues to be used occasionally in its original context, a mark on shipping cases. The usage is irregular and does not appear on all product shipping cases, but it's used even on new product cases launched in this decade (indicating the logo's continued use is intentional, and not just due to a box maker using an old printing press).

BEWARE: if you stare at this logo for more than 30 seconds, then close your eyes for another 10 ... and then look at a blank page, you will see a vision of the devil.

I like the logo and I often seen it in my dream. And I even drawn it in one of my books. Sounds Nostalgic for me.

Aside from the preposterous and unfounded rumors, I guess P&G saw the benefits in replacing this trademark with a neutral wordmark. After-all, why should a parent-brand dominant or smother its' vast array of sub-brands, such as Pampers, Tide, Ariel, Always, Pantene, Pringles, etc... ?

My dad used to work for P&G years ago, so I saw a lot of this logo as a kid. Supposedly, there are 6s in the man's beard and you can make 3 6s by "connecting the dots" with the 13 stars. An urban legend derived from this that P&G was run by a satanist. Guess they finally got tired of debunking this, plus it really was an anachronism by the end of the 20th century.

The bastard, tearaway, son of this logotype is alive and living in Dublin. Check out Club M nightclub in temple bar. Practically speaking, it’s a terrible logotype to work with.

I always found this logo creepy at best. But then again, the new isn't much of an improvement either. As a matter of fact, it just made a boring client all the more boring.

How can anyone see a ram and the numbers '666' in this? It is such a pity that this amiable trademark was replaced by a bland wordmark.
