I agree with Morozzi, you should have seen it in colours during the games and so many fine and effective applications. It also brings memories (nostalgy) and mixed feelings. Beautiful and cool revolutionary rocking days. Peace.

You are correct...the numbers on the Nike-designed Mexico kits are inspired by the 68 fonts. An homage...as it should be. And you have a great eye for typography. cheers!

The numbers on the t-shirts of the Mexican World Cup Team seem to be inspired by this logo. It still lives on in a way.

I was very happy to have purchased a shirt w/this logo on it, to me it represents the student massacre of '68 as well, in which the Mexican Govt. slaughtered hundreds of still missing student protesters. So the beauty, refinement, and balance of this logo make this one of my favorites in a slightly bitter way. I do not know what designer/typographer did this logotype, but it is with out a question one of the true classics of our time.

Simply beautiful. Graphic quality we are not used to see that often anymore... Unless stolen: unfortunately Mevis & Van Deursen have ruined its spirit. Shame on them.

Let's face it... it might have been good in its own time -and now it still may be for silly retro trend followers- but a) was created to die soon b) it is not that good... can you read the 68? or is it a 88? Oh, my, it is awful!!!

Apparently, this logotype 'inspired' the new identity of the 'Boijmans van Beuningen Museum' in Rotterdam. Really?!? Mevis en Van Deursen's misappropriation of this design-classic fails miserably... their sterile and crude typographic renditions are drab and lifeless; and lack the craftsmanship (and specific customisation for each application) of Wyman's masterpiece!

This was a great logo. I can still remember it even though I was only nine at the time. Can anyone remember the Sydney logo? Or for that matter the Athens logo?

This logo was great. Fortunately, it has many surviving "children" (for lack of a better term) in the Mexico City subway signage system. Some of the glyphs used to represent the different subway stations are truly awesome...

Wyman's logo is so incredibly beautiful, however in the numerous applications it really came to life. Then, the lines radiated and extended creating dazzling and eye-catching visual effects... the resulting patterns were like Op-Art.
