The new crest is shit. It looks like something from a fast food chain, totally undistinguished and boring and says nothing of what the club is about. Even the cannon points the wrong way. They probably paid some idiot design company a fortune to come up with this garbage.

I had the original cannon and classy wording tattoed on my arm,two months later they unvailed the new crest.I was devistated to say the least.Iwrote to David dein and Hill-Wood.They just said they needed to move forward and with the new stadium they needed to rebrand the image of the club.I tend to agree in hindsight, the new crest has grown on me.However I would rather have kept the original historic crest.

I became an Arsenal fan about time when Henry left the club, not a good time to become a fan yeah, but still from what i hear from you guys they'd profit a lot if they changed the crest back to the old one or rearrange it so they save face.

Beyond sad. Just stupid and greedy beyond words. This crest is one of the finest logos I've ever seen, not to mention all of the history associated with it. No singing/atmosphere at the Emirates, no real crest... and yet, I still watch them every Saturday. Hopefully someday someone will pull their head out of their Arse.

I am not an Arsenal fan but do have an appreciation of design and the old Arsenal badge was one of the most eye catching even a stranger to the game could see it represnted a proud club with an illustrious history so it is sad to see it being replaced by this modern thing like a plain glass fronted building replacing the old sculptured front.

It is sad that our great football club decided to give the badge a so called face lift! And where have the clubs famous words gone? VICTORIA CONCORDIA CRESCIT. Some things are just best left well alone, when we lost our badge we lost a peice of our history too. Who knows one day they may come to there senses and bring it back. Arsenal to win the Champions League! GOONERGRANT from Kent

the crest looks soulless and shit. can't stand it. makes me feel physically sick when i think about it. people need to do something to bring back what the club was all about, on the football side, no complaints. but emirates? crap logo? no singing in ground? aghhhhh

Even after nearly 7 years of the new crest, it just does'nt feel like arsenal anymore. Hopefully they will come up with a new crest to replace the current one, and incorporate some of the features from the VCC one. I cant believe they did'nt even retain the motto!

The old crest was classy . Remember the days of Bergkamp, Overmars and Petit. Pity that class seems to have vanished like the old crest

I'm surprised they didn't just relace the logo with something more fitting to the club... a French flag perhaps?

The new crest is utter sh*te! I dont object totally with the premise that the club needed to have a logo that they could merchandise but this is a terrible mistake. It pays absolutely no consideration to our history on or off the pitch and will look dated very soon. it's a classic case of throwing money at people who have no understanding of football or the club and so you end up with a solution that only appeals to the design illiterate and passion free suits who overpaid for it in the first place.

I come from Hull, but have been an Arsenal fan since 1988, when at the end they beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield with the Michael Thomas last minute winner.I supported Arsenal up till the badge change. Week in and out I followed the Red and White Army all I could afford and must have clocked up thousands of miles. Now I follow Hull, why, because of Arsenal changing the badge, it is disgusting and unnesscessary.I still have my old Arsenal souveneirs, but will never buy a thing with the new badge on

The recent restyle by Spurs shows how a modern, yet classic, crest should be done. Arsenal's new crest is badly executed, bland and (unlike their team) lacks flair. Spurs 1 Arsenal 0.

I'am from Holland, It's a shame what Arsenal have done with their logo. I support Ajax and my club has done the same with their classic logo. The crest is part of the identity of the club. I hope your club will make a wise desision.

"Fabian, Vieira dznt smear the crest with mucus!!! Its a nosal clearing drug,he'z got mild sinusitis and needs to kip his nose clear in the English cold condtions if he's to play the full 90 without problems.ok!!!" You have got to change with tyme and style, the old crest was out of shape with new style and design, lets face it, we needed a new one......... I for one like the old crest, but love the new one.

It's all about maximising profits these days - sod the supporters and their traditions. I remember only a few years ago when Manchester united used to have the words "Football Club" on their badge - the plc didn't want the brand to be associated with drunken yobs!

The old chant 'Boring, Boring Arsenal' applies to the new badge. This 'redesign' lacks soul and a sense of the rich heritage of a wonderful club.

Since birth, I'm a Gunner. Initially, I disliked the new badge and resented the fact that it was introduced without consultation with the fans. But now, to be honest, I don't care!! This Saturday, we will hopefully make further history by completing 50 league games unbeaten.

I don't care about Arsenal's achievement (note the singular)!! There is no disguising the fact that the new crest is crudely rendered and ugly ... a bit like the revamped UPS it is a badge devoid of stylistic durability.

I'm sure those fans who cried and booed during the unveiling of the revamped crest don't mind now, especially since their team just won the league UNBEATEN.

The old crest represented boring (1-1) Arsenal - whereas the revised one symbolises a NEW club moving forward. With an exciting new stadium in the pipeline, extended contracts for the manager and star-players, on-course for a treble - who cares about heritage!

Most people agree that the old crest says a lot more to them than the new one and many are deeply attached to it as a symbol of Arsenal's heritage.

Our crest absolutely oozes class and quality and to wipe it out is a travesty. I'm all for change, but with a toe in the past would have been something. Is nothing sacred I ask? Of course I understand that things move on, and usually for the better, but this is one last little but historic bastion that the club has, and they should be trying to preserve it at all costs, it's what Arsenal is all about, it's that inexplicasble thing that gives us our class and standing in the game as a whole. A truly sad day if THE crest falls by the wayside merely for a "drop more" of profit. Dear me.

The new badge - It's Crap.... how the hell can it be compaired to the classy looking old crest that we have now, there is no comparison. The new one looks like a kid has drawn it. I say keep the crest as it is, or better still put it to the fans and let them decide, after all it is them that buy all the merchandise and make the club money, so it is only fair they should choose.

As an American follower of Arsenal, I can't help but feel as though they did this to attract more people like me, and I think it's a shame. Not only did they sell out their heritage in the name of merchandising, but the new logo is awful. Better to go with a simpler cannon design or return to the 1930s Art Deco crest than the monstrosity they're wearing these days.

Is a football clubs crest so important now? It seems clubs sold out years ago giving way to big sponsors logos - in the case of Arsenal first to JVC, to most recently 02. Who out there 'supports' Vodafone? ABN Amro? Carlsberg???

The crest is the heart of the club, not only does it lead you in everything that you do, but even it’s positioning on the shirt would have you believe that it helps to pump life into your body. Well Arsenal, the day I saw our new crest, my heart broke.

The one reason why they killed off our crest: the rebranding gives the Gunners a tighter grip on merchandising as they had been unable to copyright their old badge

Chairman Peter Hill-Wood said about the new crest: “It retains the traditional features such as the cannon and the shield which are synonymous with Arsenal Football Club.” That may be so, but where’s the motto? The only bit of Latin that I am proud of knowing! The statement that I always use to impress Eton graduates who prattle on in the ancient language. ‘Victory through harmony’ we once proclaimed to the world, now our crest says ‘Cock up through redesign’. Where’s the coat of arms? Leapt off the badge in disgust one might think. Where’s the gothic script that our club's name was once written in? I’ll tell you where, it’s been handed its P45 and traded in for a newer bubbly, fun and funky font. Everything historical, everything that I thought Arsenal stood for, has gone.

I don't think the new design is too bad but don't marketing men talk a lot of crap? Design just like fashion goes in circles and a quality design outlasts poor design. Just how good the new design is will be known until about ten years time but I'd bet big money that it won't outlive the timespan of our current badge. Personally my preferred design was the simple one used on our shirts in the early 70's whish showed a neat cannon and afc in little circles that looked like cannon balls. Now that was class.

Quite soon before Arsenal introduced their new creat, my brother went with a friend to a tattoo parlour, and in a bid to help him decide, my oh so helpful brother suggested that he got the Arsenal crest emblazoned on his body. “Even marriages can end” he reasoned “so you're not even safe getting someone’s name. The club you support will never change, you're safe with that”
