Condolence book for the passing of Commodore 'Burgee Flag'

The C64 and Amiga were fantastic systems. By the way, this logo was known in the uk as "The Chickenhead" because of its resemblance to a beak.

Commodore was indeed magic. The VIC20/C64 may be one of the greatest systems of all time (certainly for its day). It had it all, four (4) programmable function keys, 5-1/4 floppy disc, modem, BASIC...

This logo's not dead - yet. In germany it still exists, they produced some crap quality products with it (e.g. phones) that are sold in low end places like Walmart. May the logo be still alive, the brand and its fascinations is dead! RIP in our memories!

I've just read that Tulip Computers are relaunching this brand ... later this year, they will release a straight-to-tv games console in the form of an old joystick. Apparently it will play most of the old games.

Somehow, it's even sadder in black and white. The happy family on the box of the C64 marvelling at the enormous power and style, the happy little blinking purple cursor, the joy, the joy. We still fire up the emulator sometimes and just sit with all the lights out, staring........

Commodore, I miss you!! You introduced me to home computing and gaming; and even adorned the shirt of my favourite football team (Chelsea FC).

in fairness to the authors of the book, they mention that this one is due to be resurrected... and why not? the brand has got so much positive heritage!

So... if it is dead, why is it on the commodore.net website? or does my computer have a sixth sense?

Hi there, I've just seen a picture of a NEW commodore product ... an USB2.0 high speed memory stick with a cool design. I guess this means commodore is back, even though the *original* products (like: c64) are still missed.

When i was 12th i've had my first computer: a "magic" Commodore 64. From then, in these 23 years, I have had many other computers (until a PowerBook, today), but above all of them, in my heart remains the beloved C64. Thanks Commodore.

Commodore's logo is the same now, only in italics, if you could say it like that. Aside from a relatively huge video game remix scene and retro merchandise (shirts, etc.), the closest analogy would be, "Gone, but not forgotten." And http://www.commodore.net/ might be a sign of things to come. Or it might not be. Who can say?

as I caress my datasette, I remember my Vic20, C64, then the 128, then I realize 1540 diskettes blew to what I have now, technology marches on...Commodore did not....gratefully however it did not bow out in an offensive manner but merely faded from our conscience.

This great brand is just in 'a coma'. I pray that one day it will wake up - it is way too strong a brand to be dead.

Atari has come back from the dead - I pray that Commodore will rise from the ashes too!

As far as consumers are concerned, Commodore just disappeared... It never failed or damaged its reputation. So it's not unfeasible that one day we could see the brand again.
